So, somehow I blinked and all of a sudden it was August. Guys, when did this happen? I honestly didn’t realize how quickly this year was going until I had to write down the date, and all of a sudden there was an “8” where the month goes. I’m not entirely sure how the year is more than halfway gone, and if I’m being honest, I’m having a lot of mixed feelings about it.
I know it’s an old cliche that time goes quickly, don’t blink or you’ll miss is, blah blah blah. But it really hit me this month, because looking back to January, there are still several goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year that I’m nowhere near hitting. I kept thinking I have so much more time, and now find myself a bit, stuck. So, I decided it wasn’t too late in 2017 to work on living intentionally this year, so for the month of August I have 3 daily goals:
- Do a round of Whole 30
- Commit to intentional daily planning
- Write a daily blog post
It won’t all be long, heartfelt, grab-your-tissues-I’m-dropping-some-knowledge stuff – but it’s enough of a list that by the end of each day I think I’ll be able to fall into bed feeling accomplished. And a good year is just a series of good months, which is just a series of good days.
(And for the record yes, I realize that it’s already August 7th, I was in Austin for the past 5 days, so for me, August starts today!)
If you’re looking to find some intentionality in each day – join me! In any or all of it – anything counts.
