A Case of the Mondays

You guys. I think I had a bad case of the Monday’s, except all weekend. With everything going on in the world, my heart simply didn’t have the space to write. And so, in the spirit of self care – I didn’t.

I think it was actually a good lesson for me. The first day I skipped – I honestly felt guilty about it. The second day it had moved more to apathy. But by the third day, it sort of clicked that this is what living intentionally is ACTUALLY about. I can’t be ruled by my to-do list to the point where it’s the one calling the shots. I needed to be in-tune enough to see what was serving me, and what wasn’t.

So, today I’m back at it. Will I be here tomorrow? I’m not sure yet. I’m trying to find the balance between writing just for the sake of hitting a goal, and waiting until I have something important to say.

For now, I’m going to make another cup of coffee, make my toddler some lunch, and do some brainstorming while listening to the Motown station on Pandora. I’ll leave you with this:

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
– Nelson Mandela
